These four entities are: Forestry & Utility Division Environmental Division Technology & Innovation Division Sustainability Division JOB SUMMARY: The Paleontological Field Supervisor will be responsible for managing, planning and conducting construction monitoring, field surveys, and reporting tasks related to paleontological resources in support of utility-scale energy development projects. Position will require some outside travel JOB REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in paleontology or geology Minimum of 6 years monitoring and survey experience in states such as Idaho, Oregon, Utah, New Mexico, Arizona Ability to be permitted as a Field Agent/Field Supervisor on paleontological permits Prior experience with paleontological mitigation projects including construction monitoring required Demonstrate proficiency in recognizing various types of fossils, determination of fossil significance, familiarity with collection methods, and advance knowledge of paleontological field technique Knowledge of basic geology skills such as: Geologic descriptions and Measuring stratigraphic columns; Recognizing vertebrate, invertebrate, plant, and trace fossils Knowledge around the use and appropriate application of excavation tools and practices Experience in personnel management Ability to work long hours in potentially extreme weather conditions and capable of walking/hiking long distances Ability to travel for extended periods of time Competence using global positioning system units, maps, tablets, and submeter accuracy devices The ability to operate a four-wheel drive vehicle over rough terrain The ability to perform work duties independently or as part of a team Clear communicator, highly organized, motivated, thorough, accurate, and dependable Ability to read, write and speak English sufficient to perform job duties and to interact and communicate with employees and vendors PREFERRED EXPERINECE: Master’s Degree in paleontology, geology, or related field Previous experience of operating as a Field Agent/Field Supervisor on paleontological permits Minimum of one year of experience in a supervisory role Fossil preparation and/or museum curation experience Familiarity with typical utility construction activities Familiarity with ESRI GIS applications (including desktop, ArcGIS, Field Maps, Survey123, etc.) Prior experience working in Oregon, Idaho, New Mexico, Arizona, or Utah Eocene Environmental Group, Inc. provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local laws. https://wrightservicecorp.com/privacy-policy
