The Director of Human Resources is responsible for leading and executing all HR functions for the organizations. This role combines strategic planning with day-to-day HR operations, ensuring compliance, supporting employees, and aligning HR initiatives with business goals.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage the talent acquisition process, which may include recruiting, interviewing, and hiring qualified job applicants for all roles; collaborate with departmental managers to understand the skills and competencies required for openings.
- Administer benefits, compensation, and 401(k) programs, as well as vendor relationships.
- Oversee regular internal audits to assess HR practices, policies, and records for compliance.
- Coordinate external and internal reporting requirements including EEOC, OFCCP, and AAP reports.
- Lead workplace investigations and disciplinary procedures.
- Maintain a smooth onboarding process and implement retention programs.
- Responsible for organization-wide engagement and recognition initiatives
- Provide training, counseling, and coaching to leaders and team members.
- Resolve conflicts through positive and professional mediation.
- Conduct annual performance and wage reviews.
- Maintain workplace health and safety compliance in partnership with the safety team.
- Maintain employee and workplace privacy.
- Stay current on employment laws, regulations, legislative changes, and industry best practices to continuously enhance and update compliance programs.
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources management or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in human resources or related field.
- Professional HR certification such as SPHR, PHR, SHRM-CP, HRCI, or equivalent preferred
- Experience in following and maintaining workplace privacy.
- Strong knowledge of relevant federal, health and safety laws (e.g., OFCCP, EEO, OSHA, DOL)
- Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Experience in the construction and/or environmental remediation fields
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds at times.

Compensation
- Actual compensation is based on experience, qualifications, and location.
- Health Insurance: Medical, dental, and vision coverage starting on the first day of the month following date of hire.
- Retirement Plans: 401(k) – 100% company match on the first 4% of employee contributions.
- Paid Time Off (PTO): 80 hours per year
- Sick Time: 56 hours per year
