Full time Regular The Ecological Restoration Lead will manage and oversee a variety of vegetation management projects, with a focus on habitat restoration, invasive species management, stream and wetland restoration, and ecological monitoring. The role involves project management, client interactions, and fieldwork to ensure the successful execution of restoration activities. This position requires technical expertise in ecological restoration practices, the ability to manage multidisciplinary teams, and excellent communication skills to liaise with stakeholders. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Project Management Lead and manage vegetation management projects from inception through completion. Develop and oversee project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation. Ensure all project deliverables meet quality, timeline, and cost objectives. Collaborate with project teams, including biologists, engineers, and other specialists. Fieldwork Supervision Conduct site assessments, design vegetation management plans, and oversee fieldwork. Supervise the implementation of restoration techniques such as reforestation, invasive species removal, and wetland mitigation. Monitor project sites post-restoration to assess the success of the implemented techniques. Client and Stakeholder Management Build and maintain relationships with clients, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders. Prepare and deliver reports, presentations, and proposals to clients and stakeholders. Technical Expertise and Reporting Provide technical guidance on native plant restoration, hydrology, soil science, and ecological assessments. Prepare detailed reports and documentation on project progress, outcomes, and environmental impact. Requirements Minimum Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Ecology, Biology, Natural Resource Management, or related field. Preferred Qualifications: Experience: 3 years of experience in vegetation management, with a focus on wetlands, streams, and forest ecosystems. Familiarity with state and federal environmental regulations, including the Clean Water Act and Endangered Species Act. Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. Experience managing habitat restoration, wetland mitigation, and stream restoration projects. Strong knowledge of native plants, invasive species management, and ecological restoration techniques. Proficiency with GIS, AutoCAD, or other mapping software. Desired Skills: Excellent project management skills with a demonstrated ability to lead and execute complex ecological restoration projects. Strong written and verbal communication skills for client and stakeholder interactions. Ability to manage field teams and work collaboratively across multiple departments. Problem-solving skills to adapt restoration techniques to unique site conditions. Familiarity with safety protocols and environmental regulations. Attention to detail, especially in data collection, analysis, and reporting. Ability to work outdoors in various conditions, sometimes for extended periods.
