The Senior Accountant plays a critical role in supporting the organization’s financial operations by managing core accounting functions, performing analysis, and providing actionable insights to support business decisions. This position combines hands-on accounting responsibilities with strategic financial analysis, cross-functional collaboration, and process improvement initiatives. The Senior Accountant ensures accurate financial reporting, compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements, and contributes to a positive and productive team environment.

Key Duties And Essential Functions
- Analyze and provide insights into key financial areas, including sales, gross profit margins, operating costs, and working capital.
- Support core accounting functions, including billing, accounts receivable, general ledger, cost accounting, inventory accounting, sales tax, and revenue recognition.
- Prepare and support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, including financial reporting and reconciliations.
- Perform variance analysis against budget and prior periods; communicate findings and provide actionable recommendations.
- Review project backlog and sales pipeline to support short- and long-term financial forecasting.
- Support financial modeling, including profitability analysis, risk identification, and investment-related analysis.
- Ensure adherence to accounting policies and procedures; support the development and maintenance of strong internal controls.
- Maintain ERP system accuracy and support consistent application of accounting processes and data integrity.
- Assist with audit activities, including preparing documentation and responding to auditor requests.
- Manage accounts receivable processes, including customer setup, invoicing, credit adjustments, cash application, and collections support.
- Prepare and record bank deposits and related transactions, including commission-related entries.
- Perform monthly bank and general ledger account reconciliations.
- Prepare and file sales tax returns and other required governmental filings, including property tax and state compliance reports.
- Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with regulatory and internal standards.
- Support system enhancements, automation initiatives, and continuous process improvements.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
- 6 years of related experience.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to problem solve and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Natural curiosity to follow the data to the correct answer.
- Ability to gain “buy-in” and challenge the status quo in a collaborative manner.
- Independently motivated.
- Able to cultivate strong relationships across all levels of the organization.
- Experience with project management finance a plus
- Experience with Acumatica or Velixo is a plus
