Responsibilities
- Perform thorough cleaning of floors, surfaces, restrooms, and common areas using appropriate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers and scrubbers.
- Handle chemical agents safely, following all safety protocols and handling procedures to ensure a secure environment.
- Conduct heavy lifting and manual handling tasks to move furniture, equipment, or supplies efficiently and safely.
- Maintain sanitation standards by disinfecting high-touch surfaces and ensuring all areas meet health regulations.
- Operate cleaning machinery including floor buffers, vacuums, and other custodial equipment to achieve optimal cleanliness.
- Follow safety protocols diligently during all cleaning activities to prevent accidents or injuries.
- Assist with basic maintenance tasks such as minor repairs or reporting larger issues to facilities management.
- Support additional facilities maintenance duties as needed, including light painting or industrial cleaning tasks.
Skills
- Proven experience in janitorial or custodial roles with knowledge of commercial or residential cleaning practices.
- Familiarity with cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, vacuums, and chemical dispensing tools.
- Strong understanding of chemical handling safety procedures and sanitation standards.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while adhering to safe lifting practices.
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly attitude toward staff and visitors.
- Knowledge of facilities maintenance tasks including basic repairs and industrial cleaning techniques.
- Ability to work independently in the early morning hours with minimal supervision while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety.
