The Opening
We are currently seeking an Emergency Response Environmental Technician to be based out of our Merrillville, IN office to assist with hazardous waste clean-up, site remediation, equipment decontamination, and handling of hazardous materials.

Key Responsibilities
- Ensures Health and Safety is the number one goal by following PROS - Pause, Review, Observe, Start
- Performs non-emergency and emergency response activities involving hazardous materials
- Performs labor intensive activities in all weather conditions throughout the shift
- Works in atmospheres with low clearances, confined spaces, and at heights
- Operates and works around light and heavy equipment including skid steers, forklifts, and pressure washers
- Performs routine inspection and preventive maintenance on equipment
- Maintains warehouse, stocks supplies, and performs building maintenance
- Available for emergency response work after-hours and on weekends
- Travel is required
- Maintains an excellent driving history
What does it take to work at Environmental Restoration?
- Pass a Pre-Employment drug screening, criminal background check, and physical exam
- Legally eligible to work in the United States (Verified through E-Verify)
- Willingness to obtain OSHA (40 hour) Certification
- Ability and willingness to work in a physically intensive role
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment, including respiratory protection
- Lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to interpret and follow written and oral instructions and assignments
- Clean driving record
Environmental experience, hazardous waste experience and certification (i.e. OSHA 40hr HAZWOPER), CDL, heavy equipment operation and maintenance experience is a plus.
