This position is in Region 5, Enforcement and Compliance Assurance Division. About: Region 5.

This is an office-centered position--you must physically report to the duty station stated in this announcement on a regular basis.

Qualifications:

In addition to the basic entry education requirements, you must have specialized experience and/or directly related education as described below:

To qualify for the GS-15 level, you must have 1 year of full-time* specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-14 level defined as providing enforcement and compliance assurance under one or more statutes utilizing compliance assurance tools available to the organization; developing judicial enforcement actions and addressing and resolving technical problems associated with Federal environmental laws.

Responsibilities:

You will:

  • Plan, organize, and direct the activities of the organizational unit goals and objectives to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements and meet customer needs.
  • Recommend program activities to be tracked, develop criteria for staff performance, and determine appropriate actions of impact for establishing, developing, and maintaining effective working relationships of personnel.
  • Overview and track daily operations, manage large group of employees into offices or branches, and develop and implement the administrative budget to achieve objectives of environmental protection.
  • Exercise supervisory personnel management responsibilities to advise and provide counsel regarding policies, procedures, and directives of management for employee development.

You will spend less than 25% of your work time on contracts, grants/cooperative agreements, and/or interagency agreements.
