Job Summary
Environmental Management Services, Inc. is seeking a dynamic Environmental Health Safety Specialist to join a team at a pharmaceutical facility. This position requires successful candidates to pass pre-employment drug testing and pre-employment criminal background check. EMSI is a Drug Fee Workplace.
Responsibilities
- Provide full-time day-to-day, onsite EHS support at client site,
- Primary contact for hazardous waste and biowaste weekly servicing
- Coordinates with vendor and obtains hazmat supplies for end users (all sites).
- Provide technical support as needed, i.e., spill prevention/control and emergency response.
- Provide chemical inventory support.
- Must be able to provide metrics for the EHS tasks and waste disposal activities.
- Complete weekly Central Accumulation Area inspections (all sites).
- PPE Management (equipment/vendors) and other EHS tasks as needed, i.e., Internal Manufacturing and Process Development meetings
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety or related scientific field such as Biology, Chemistry, Industrial Hygiene, or Engineering.
- Minimum of 2-5 years of Environmental Health & Safety experience.
- Must be knowledgeable of EPA and DOT regulations and hazardous waste collection and management.
- Outstanding organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent project management and communication skills.
- Must be able to pay attention to detail with ability to keep the big picture in mind.
- Excellent soft (people) skills; ability to work well with clients and co-workers and to be patient.
- Motivated self-starter required.
- Must be able to work well in a team environment.
- Read, speak and write excellent English skills.
- Must be able to work 8 hours per day.
- Must have own transportation.
Pay: $36.00 - $40.00 per hour
