Responsibilities:
- Operate a forklift to safely and efficiently transport materials, components, and finished products within the manufacturing facility.
- Load and unload materials from trucks, pallets, racks, or shelves, ensuring proper placement and securing of loads to prevent damage or accidents.
- Follow safety procedures and regulations at all times, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and conducting pre-operational checks on the forklift.
- Inspect forklift and related equipment for any defects or malfunctions before each use and report any issues to supervisors or maintenance personnel.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to coordinate activities, communicate any issues or concerns, and ensure timely delivery of materials to designated areas.
- Participate in training programs to improve skills and knowledge related to forklift operation, safety procedures, and company policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors or management to support the overall goals and objectives of the company.
- Minimum of a high school education or equivalent.
- Reading and speaking proficiency in either English or Spanish required.
- Valid forklift operator certification or license.
- Proven experience as a forklift driver in a manufacturing or construction environment.
- Strong understanding of forklift operation and safety procedures.
- Ability to operate a forklift safely and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects as needed.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in load handling and placement.
- Ability to work independently and on a team
- Strong verbal communication skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
