Job Title: Janitor / Custodial Staff – On-Site (Part-Time Evening)

Location: St. Helena, CA (Work at client sites)

Job Type: Part-Time (20 hours/week)

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 5:15 PM – 10:15 PM

Pay: $17.40 per hour

Position Summary:
The Janitor is responsible for cleaning and maintaining client facilities according to established quality standards and budgeted time. This role involves performing a variety of janitorial duties, ensuring safety and security, and communicating effectively with supervisors and clients. This position requires travel to client sites.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clean rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, stairways, elevators, and other assigned areas.
  • Dust furniture and equipment up to six feet high; wipe walls.
  • Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors using appropriate equipment.
  • Wash windows, sills, and door panels.
  • Empty trash cans, ashtrays, and other waste containers; carry and dispose of large trash bags.
  • Replenish bathroom and cleaning supplies.
  • Maintain janitorial closets and supplies in order.
  • Follow all safety and security procedures; report unsafe conditions or accidents.
  • Ensure accurate timekeeping and submit time-off requests as needed.
  • Communicate account issues, supply needs, and equipment concerns to the supervisor.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • 3–6 months of janitorial or custodial experience preferred.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English or Spanish at a basic level.
  • Demonstrated reliability, integrity, and professionalism.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
  • Ability to adapt to changing tasks and environments.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work respectfully with colleagues and clients.
  • Physical stamina to perform janitorial tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs, standing, bending, stooping, and walking.
  • Valid driver’s license, insurable driving record, and proof of auto insurance if assigned to multiple client sites; alternative reliable transportation acceptable for a single site.

Physical & Work Environment:

  • Work may occur in various locations, including warehouses, offices, or production areas.
  • Exposure to indoor/outdoor temperatures, chemicals, dust, and occasional hazardous materials.
  • Ability to perform repetitive physical tasks safely and efficiently.

Resumen del Puesto:
El Conserje es responsable de limpiar y mantener las instalaciones de los clientes según los estándares de calidad establecidos y dentro del tiempo presupuestado. Este rol implica realizar una variedad de tareas de limpieza, garantizar la seguridad y comunicarse efectivamente con supervisores y clientes. Este puesto requiere desplazarse a las instalaciones de los clientes.

Responsabilidades Principales:

  • Limpiar habitaciones, pasillos, vestíbulos, salas de espera, baños, escaleras, elevadores y otras áreas asignadas.
  • Quitar el polvo de muebles y equipos hasta seis pies de altura; limpiar paredes.
  • Barrer, trapear y aspirar pisos usando el equipo adecuado.
  • Lavar ventanas, marcos y paneles de puertas.
  • Vaciar botes de basura, ceniceros y otros recipientes; transportar y desechar bolsas grandes de basura.
  • Reponer suministros de baños y de limpieza.
  • Mantener en orden los armarios y suministros de limpieza.
  • Seguir todos los procedimientos de seguridad; reportar condiciones inseguras o accidentes.
  • Asegurar un registro de tiempo preciso y enviar solicitudes de tiempo libre según sea necesario.
  • Comunicar problemas de la cuenta, necesidades de suministros y problemas de equipo al supervisor.
  • Realizar otras tareas relacionadas según se asignen.

Habilidades y Calificaciones Requeridas:

  • De 3 a 6 meses de experiencia en limpieza o servicios de conserjería, preferible.
  • Capacidad para leer, escribir y hablar inglés o español a nivel básico.
  • Demostrada confiabilidad, integridad y profesionalismo.
  • Gran atención a los detalles y capacidad para seguir instrucciones.
  • Capacidad para adaptarse a tareas y entornos cambiantes.
  • Excelentes habilidades de comunicación y capacidad para trabajar con respeto con colegas y clientes.
  • Resistencia física para realizar tareas de limpieza, incluyendo levantar hasta 50 lbs, estar de pie, inclinarse, agacharse y caminar.
  • Licencia de conducir válida, historial de manejo asegurado y prueba de seguro de automóvil si se asigna a múltiples cuentas; transporte alternativo confiable aceptable si se asigna a una sola cuenta.

Entorno Físico y Laboral:

  • El trabajo puede ocurrir en diferentes ubicaciones, incluyendo bodegas, oficinas o áreas de producción.
  • Exposición a temperaturas interiores/exteriores, químicos, polvo y materiales peligrosos ocasionales.
  • Capacidad para realizar tareas físicas repetitivas de manera segura y eficiente.
