Qualifications
Education and Experience: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree.
OR
Associate's Degree and two years of full-time experience performing administrative support, data entry, data management, or data analytics.
Substitution of education for experience: Full-time experience performing administrative support, data entry, data management, or data analytics may be substituted for the required education on a year-to-year basis up to four years.
Overview
Under direct supervision, this class performs data entry and data management at the working level. Employees in this class may be required to enter data, create records of data, review submissions and forms for accuracy and compliance, creates reports, and communicate with internal and external customers related to data management and data entry. This class differs from that of the Data Specialist, in that the latter performs more complex data analytics and review.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for accurate, timely, and complete creation of data into official systems of record or other data collection repositories. Review submissions and forms for completeness and accuracy.
- Responsible for the creation and management of records of submitted data in accordance with operation guidelines and established state, federal, and departmental standards.
- Ensure data is produced in a way that is in compliance with appropriate retention and destruction policies.
- Use existing tools to generate reports to monitor and confirm data quality.
- Interface with internal and external customers to collect and input data into established systems per protocol.
- May be required to transcribe data from forms and instruments.
- Reports errors and inconsistencies within submitted and existing data to Data or Program management. May be required to communicate errors to customer to facilitate correction of errors per protocol. Assists with data validation, data correction, and assists with making improvement recommendations to maintain and ensure data quality. May be required to retrieve existing data from files or data management systems.
