Essential Job Functions
- Help implement the business strategy for the service & light Mechanical install departments and work with all levels of the organization to execute.
- Evaluate the success of the departments using gross profitability metrics to determine the department trajectory.
- Work directly with the Director of Operations to manage and develop the staff, to Include:
- Hiring and training staff
- Evaluating workload of office staff
- Setting work priorities
- Evaluating performance
- Directing work assignments to ensure effective use of resources and customer satisfaction.
- Monitoring & managing the flow of responsibilities when office staff are on vacation/sick.
- Ensure all processes and procedures are followed.
- Attend to customer escalation issues/satisfaction.
- Ensure Department quotes/proposals are up to date / reviewed / finalized.
- Manage morning service calls with the Dispatchers.
- Review time records, approve weekly timesheets and monitor vacation equitability.
- Oversee and ensure the maintenance of all tools and vehicles for the departments.
- Assist in the dispatching operation to ensure appropriate technician selection for the type of service needed.
- Maintain and assess the labor layout to ensure operational capacity and customer satisfaction.
- Ensure that materials and equipment are ordered and dispensed as needed for scheduled jobs.
- Ensure Department stock is well maintained, replenished and recorded accurately.
- Evaluate training requirements of Technicians/Staff.
- Work with field supervisors to ensure company quality standards are upheld on all work performed at customer facilities.
- Participate in the month end close for each department, ensuring a correct accounting for all revenue and expenses.
- Manage the Technician, Dispatcher and Manager on call schedules to ensure continuity of service for all our customers.
- Participate in the manager on-call schedule with the field supervisors.
- Serve as the technical resource for all department personnel ensuring any solutions presented to customers are technically sound. To include:
- Reviewing invoices and quotes daily
- Answering demand requests from technicians and office personnel
- Advising and training technicians, installers,s and field supervisors.
- 5 Years Related technical experience in a combination of servicing and installing commercial HVAC & Refrigeration Equipment.
- HVAC Journeyman’s or Master’s license preferred but not required.
- 3 years of Management experience of the service industry.
- Proficient in basic business software packages. (Example: Microsoft 365, Adobe, and Outlook. Experience with an ERP & CRM a plus but not required)
- Ability to multitask and maintain a high level of detail and organization.
- Ability to pass a driving record and background check.
- EPA 608 Universal License.
- Strong knowledge of current industry trends, standards and regulations
