Role Description This full-time, on-site Laboratory Technician role is based in Oscoda, MI. The Laboratory Technician will perform routine and specialized laboratory tests, prepare samples, and operate laboratory equipment following established protocols and safety procedures. Responsibilities include accurately documenting results, maintaining detailed records, labeling and organizing samples, and assisting with data entry and basic analysis. The role also involves cleaning, calibrating, and performing basic maintenance on laboratory instruments to ensure reliable performance. The Laboratory Technician will support quality control activities, help maintain inventory of supplies and reagents, follow standard operating procedures, and collaborate with other team members to meet project timelines and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- Strong laboratory skills with hands-on experience in sample preparation, handling, and general Laboratory Skills relevant to Laboratory Technicians.
- Ability to operate and maintain Laboratory Equipment, including basic troubleshooting and routine calibration.
- Solid Analytical Skills with attention to detail, accurate recordkeeping, and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Understanding of Quality Control practices, including adherence to standard operating procedures, safety guidelines, and regulatory standards.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in a scientific field (e.g., Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science) is preferred.
- Familiarity with good laboratory practice (GLP), safety protocols, and proper use of personal protective equipment.
- Basic computer skills for data entry, documentation, and use of laboratory information systems or spreadsheets.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, handle multiple tasks, and work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
