As a Transit Driver, you will be responsible for providing door-through-door service for older adults, individuals with disabilities, and low-income residents. Trips may include medical appointments, errands, work, church, and more. This position requires a strong commitment to safety, professionalism, and care for those we serve.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely transport passengers in a scheduled and timely manner
- Assist clients with boarding and exiting vehicles
- Ensure vehicle cleanliness and report maintenance needs
- Accurately complete and submit trip logs and electronic documentation
- Maintain professional and courteous communication with clients and staff
- Follow all Envida and regulatory driving safety standards
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 21 years old
- Valid driver’s license and clean Motor Vehicle Record
- No CDL required, but passenger driving experience is preferred
- Able to lift at least 50 pounds
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Basic computer and electronic documentation skills
- Must pass a background check and drug/alcohol screening
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Maintains confidentiality and demonstrates sound interpersonal skills
- Driving in an enclosed vehicle with exposure to varying weather conditions
- Navigating roads and transporting clients safely in all seasons
- Interacting with a wide variety of clients and community members
