Responsibilities

- Handle laundry duties including washing, drying, folding, and organizing linens and uniforms in accordance with healthcare standards.
- Follow OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and colleagues.
- Use proper chemical handling techniques to safely manage cleaning agents and disinfectants, minimizing exposure risks.
- Conduct floor care activities such as sweeping, mopping, buffing, and carpet cleaning to maintain a pristine appearance.
- Operate cleaning equipment including vacuums, scrubbers, buffers, and steam cleaners with proficiency.
- Adhere strictly to sanitation protocols to prevent healthcare-associated infections and ensure compliance with environmental services standards.
- Assist with heavy lifting tasks using safe lifting practices when moving furniture or large supplies.
- Maintain detailed logs of cleaning activities, supply usage, and safety checks for accountability and continuous improvement.
- Support infection prevention efforts by following healthcare-specific cleaning procedures and safety protocols at all times.
Experience
- Proven janitorial or custodial experience in healthcare facilities or similar environments is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with hospital or clinical cleaning standards and infection control practices is advantageous.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations related to chemical handling, manual handling, and safety procedures in healthcare settings.
- Experience operating commercial cleaning equipment such as floor scrubbers, buffers, vacuums, and steam cleaners.
