Position Summary


The Workforce Specialist serves a critical role in supporting the daily operations of the Workforce Development Division at Enterprise State Community College. This position is responsible for coordinating workforce training programs, managing enrollment and registration processes, and serving as a point of contact for students and instructors.


The specialist ensures seamless program delivery by overseeing logistics, maintaining accurate records, supporting data reporting, and assisting in the development and expansion of workforce training opportunities. This role requires a highly organized, service-oriented professional who can manage multiple priorities while fostering strong relationships with students, faculty, and industry partners.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities


  1. Serve as the primary point of contact for Workforce Division enrollment services, including phone, email, and in-person support. 
  2. Assist with preregistration, registration, and onboarding of participants for workforce training programs.
  3. Advise and communicate with students regarding program offerings, requirements, and next steps using CRM systems and other communication tools. 
  4. Assist students with financial aid advising, including guiding them through FAFSA completion and Workforce Pell eligibility requirements for short-term, non-degree training programs.
  5. Assist with the implementation and administration of ACCS Parchment Digital Badges, serving as a point of contact for credential coordination, training, and cross-functional support to ensure effective system adoption and alignment.
  6. Coordinate and manage training programs, including Skills for Success courses, in collaboration with the Workforce Director and department chairs. 
  7. Schedule training sessions by coordinating instructors, facilities, labs, and equipment. 
  8. Ensure all programs are properly created, tracked, and maintained in institutional systems (e.g., Elevate).
  9. Maintain program schedules, attendance records, and required documentation. 
  10. Assist with onboarding and orientation of instructors participating in workforce training programs. 
  11. Recruit participants for training programs through community engagement and outreach efforts. 
  12. Maintain accurate records of student participation, employer engagement, and program outcomes. 
  13. Collect, organize, and report data for program evaluation, grant performance, and institutional reporting. 
  14. Conduct basic program assessments and assist in sharing results with stakeholders. 
  15. Ensure all documentation is complete and compliant for internal review and external audits. 
  16. Assist in the planning and development of new workforce training programs aligned with industry and community needs. 
  17. Support the identification and recruitment of qualified instructors and subject matter experts (SMEs).
  18. Participate in college committees and task forces as assigned. 
  19. Perform other duties as assigned.

  1. Effective interpersonal, oral, and written communication and problem-solving skills.
  2. An understanding of and commitment to the community college mission.
  3. An understanding of apprenticeship/work-based learning and its benefits.
  4. Competency with personal computers, mobile devices, and standard office software applications, including word processing, spreadsheets, presentation software, and online meeting software.
  5. Ability to travel as necessary to conduct and coordinate project activities.
  6. Ability to work flexible hours as needed. 



Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. A minimum of an Associate’s from a regionally accredited college
  2. A minimum of two (2) years’ directly related experience (manufacturing, business development, program or project management, career/technical education, academic or career counseling, etc.)



POSITION AVAILABLE: May 2026  



SALARY:

Salary Schedule E3 04 $39,759 - $57,251, based upon the Alabama Community College System Salary Schedule to be determined by the applicant’s education and years of applicable experience. Applicant acknowledges that if selected for the position that applicant’s placement on the applicable salary schedule will be dependent upon the verified information provided.
