Position Summary
Salary: Appropriate placement on Bevill State Community Colleges Local Salary Schedule: D1: $42,108 - $94,363
Work Hours: Monday through Thursday, 7:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m., Friday 7:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Teach Classes/labs as assigned. Classes/labs may be scheduled during the day, evenings, or weekend and at any Campus/instructional site deemed necessary.
- Assist students as an advisor in developing class schedules, program planning, and career counseling.
- Maintain updated course syllabi for all courses taught and proved a syllabus to all students enrolled in the class. Each faculty member will adhere to the course syllabus.
- Review and recommend revision of curriculum periodically and provide input to the college side curriculum committee.
- Assist in the development of course offerings each term.
- Maintain all records as needed for the instructional program.
- Participate in college wide committees.
- Provide library assignments to students.
- Maintain professional conduct in dealing with students. staff, administration, faculty, and the college community.
- Adhere to prescribed procedures in all financial operations of the division.
- Maintain safe practices in the classroom; laboratory, and clinical setting
- Assist in enforcing all college policies.
- Participate in the planning and budgeting processes of the division.
- Comple and dispense necessary reports in a timely manner.
- Assist in enforcing all college policies and procedures.
- Assist in the coordination for the institutional effectiveness plan.
- Attend all campus, college, and statewide meetings as required.
- Continue professional development through professional organizations, seminars, etc., to maintain and improve skills.
- Assume all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
MINIMUM EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree (required), preferred in education; or in lieu of an Associate’s degree with at least 5 years of industrial or mining maintenance experience.
- Minimum of 5 years formal teaching experience(required)
- Minimum of 5 years’ welding experience with various AWS weld position certifications (required) and instructional welding experience (preferred)

Minimum of 5 years mining/industrial maintenance experience (required) with experience focused on Electrical, Welding, Diesel, Hydraulics and Mechanical systems.
- Possession of current MSHA 30 CFR §§75.153/77.103 Electrical Certification Card (required)
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in industrial mining electrical components, systems, and repair/troubleshooting (required)
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in PLC processing systems, diesel engine maintenance, hydraulics, pumps, pneumatic systems, operation of mechanical and heavy equipment, tools and repair/troubleshooting of mining equipment and systems (preferred)
- Possession of State of Alabama Hoist Engineer Certificate of Competency(optional)
- Class B-CDL license with current DOT card(optional)
