Position Summary
The IT Helpdesk Technician is responsible for providing support for faculty, staff and students across all college campuses by responding to helpdesk inquiries in person and via email, phone call, or digital ticketing system.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Provide help desk/technical support for college faculty, staff, and students.
2. Organizing and maintaining the appearance of the IT workspace and parts room.
3. Perform clerical duties for office administration.
4. Coordinate resolution of software and hardware problems with Information Technology staff.
5. Prepare old hardware and software for the bid-sale process.
6. Receive freight deliveries and notify the recipients.
7. Maintain records/logs of repairs and fixes and maintenance schedule.
8. Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Information Technology/President.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
1. Ability to work flexible hours as needed.
2. Effective oral, auditory and written communication skills are required.
Qualifications
- High school diploma
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Two (2) years of work experience in computer information systems providing end-user support for multiple platforms and software programs
- Associate’s degree or higher from a regionally accredited college or university
- Industry-recognized certification(s) in application software, programming, website design/maintenance, networking, or other relevant area of computer information systems work
- Outstanding organizational, time-management, and communication skills
- Excellent diagnostic and problem solving skills
