Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or other four-year electronics degree
- 2–5 years of power electronics experience
- Experience with AC/DC power converters and digital power control of switching topologies
- Proficiency in Altium for schematic design, PCB layout, and fabrication file generation, or similar design software
- Proficiency in PSIM or other power simulation tools
- Experience designing low-power circuit card assemblies and high-power circuits
- Experience using lab test equipment in a controlled test environment
- Experience supporting troubleshooting and root cause analysis for production and field issues
Preferred Skills
- Experience designing battery chargers for lead acid and lithium battery systems
- Experience with Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)
- Experience designing cables and wire harnesses
- Experience overseeing prototype build, test, and validation
- Experience generating production prints and manufacturing documentation
- Experience designing end-of-line production quality test solutions
- Familiarity with Design for Manufacturing, Design for Safety, and Design for Environment principles
- Experience supporting special-order design variations
- Experience providing technical guidance across electrical, systems, and cross-functional engineering teams
Job Responsibilities
- Design power circuits and controllers for chargers and battery energy storage systems
- Design cables, wire harnesses, and circuit card assemblies
- Create schematics, PCB layouts, and fabrication files using Altium or similar tools
- Manage design project tasks to support completion according to project schedules
- Oversee prototype build, testing, and validation activities
- Use a variety of test equipment in a controlled lab environment
- Generate production prints and documentation for manufacturing
- Design and implement end-of-line production quality test solutions
- Support production and field troubleshooting, including root cause analysis
- Support special-order design variations
- Apply Design for Manufacturing, Design for Safety, and Design for Environment principles in new product development
- Serve as a technical resource for battery chargers, battery energy storage systems, and related electrical designs
