Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Strong design engineering experience
- Sheet metal design experience
- Design for Manufacturing experience
- Electrical switchgear experience
- Strong CAD experience
- Experience with SolidEdge, SolidWorks, Inventor, or equivalent CAD software
- Experience creating and modifying mechanical designs, drawings, and models
Preferred Skills
- SolidEdge experience
- SolidWorks experience
- Inventor experience
- Experience designing sheet metal enclosures, panels, cabinets, or related fabricated components
- Experience supporting manufacturing teams with design updates and production-ready documentation
- Experience with mechanical design for electrical equipment or power distribution products
Job Responsibilities
- Develop mechanical designs for electrical switchgear and related equipment
- Create and update sheet metal designs for enclosures, panels, cabinets, and components
- Apply Design for Manufacturing principles to improve manufacturability and production efficiency
- Create and modify CAD models, assemblies, and engineering drawings
- Use SolidEdge, SolidWorks, Inventor, or related CAD tools to support design work
- Review designs for fit, form, function, manufacturability, and production requirements
- Support design revisions, product updates, and engineering documentation
- Coordinate design requirements with engineering, manufacturing, and production teams
- Resolve design issues related to sheet metal fabrication, assembly, and switchgear applications
