Technical Designer

Compensation: $32 to $36 per hour

Employment Type: Full-time hourly, eligible for benefits and overtime

Job Description

The Technical Designer will support the Technical Design team and report directly to the Technical Director. This is a full-time, hourly position with expected annual earnings in the low-to-mid $70,000 range, depending on hours worked and overtime eligibility

This role is highly hands-on and requires a strong understanding of technical design, fabrication, production processes, and material applications. The ideal candidate will know how to translate creative concepts into production-ready files and understand how materials move through the manufacturing and fabrication process

Key Responsibilities

• Create and prepare production-ready technical drawings and cut files
• Support fabrication and production teams throughout the build process
• Develop designs that can be efficiently manufactured using available materials and equipment
• Collaborate with design and production teams to ensure projects are buildable and cost-effective
• Understand and account for material specifications, tolerances, and fabrication requirements
• Assist in translating conceptual designs into practical fabrication solutions

Desired Experience

• Technical design and fabrication design experience
• Creating and modifying cut files for production
• Working with CNC machinery and other fabrication equipment
• Knowledge of materials, including how they are cut, scored, bent, assembled, and constructed
• Experience preparing files and designs for manufacturing environments
• Familiarity with production design software and fabrication workflows
