What are the responsibilities and job description for the Front Desk Medical Receptionists position at ENT Specialists Inc.?
ENT Specialists is looking to hire a reliable, friendly, and don't take yourself too seriously (while still taking your job seriously) front desk medical receptionists. The front desk check-in and check-out receptionist is responsible for providing excellent customer service and administrative support to our patients, even on Mondays. You will serve as the first point of contact for the individuals entering the office and are responsible for managing the check-in and out process efficiently.
Duties And Responsibilities
Greet and welcome patients like they are VIPs (because they are).
Check patients in for appointments, verify their demographic information, and update any changes in their records without breaking a sweat.
Collect necessary documents and forms from patients, such as as insurance information and consent forms.
Scan, fax, check messages.
Schedule appointments like a pro.
Answer incoming phone calls, respond to inquires, and direct calls to the appropriate department.
Process patient payments.
Coordinate with medical staff to ensure a smooth flow of patients and communicate any delays.
Maintain patients confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines at all times.
Any additional tasks or responsibilities that arise with the evolving needs of our office.
Laugh at our bad jokes (optional, but appreciated).
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent, additional education or certification in health care is a plus.
Previous experience in a similar role, in a medical or healthcare setting.
Excellent personal skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients and staff in a clam, friendly presence, even during flu season.
Proficient in using computer system, electronic medical record (EMR), eClinical, software, and basic office equipment.
Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures.
Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks.
Ability to handle difficult or sensitive situations with empathy and professionalism.
Familiarity with insurance processes.
