Sales & Market Manager – Compression Molding

Position Summary
The Sales & Market Manager leads and oversees the sales function of our Houston Operations, with primary responsibility for achieving or exceeding revenue targets and driving profitable growth, with a strong focus on expanding the Energy market (Oil & Gas and others). This role manages daily sales activities, supports executive decision-making through business insights, and develops strategic and tactical plans to drive continuous improvement and sustained performance.
General Duties
Sales Strategy & Growth
· Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve targets, drive growth, and align with organizational goals
· Identify and pursue new customers, opportunities, new market segments, prioritizing high-value applications within the Energy sector
· Establish & maintain pricing strategies, including price schedules and discount structures
Customer & Market Focus
· Build and maintain strong customer relationships; assess needs and partnership quality
· Address and resolve customer complaints and service issues
· Monitor market trends, competition, customer preferences to refine sales efforts, with specific focus on developments in the Energy (Oil & Gas) market.
· Obtain and communicate customer & competitive intelligence to Operations and Executive Management
Sales Operations & Performance
· Manage and support sales team in opportunity development and order closure
· Oversee sales performance across all channels (OEM, Distribution, Inc.)
· Negotiate pricing and delivery terms with customers
· Work in close coordination with Territory Managers and Industry Segment Managers
Financial Planning & Analysis
· Develop and manage sales budgets and forecasts
· Monitor sales performance and expenses, analyze variances, and implement corrective actions
· Review operational data to forecast sales and assess profitability
Reporting & Compliance
· Ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies, including safety standards
· Prepare and deliver regular and ad hoc reports to support business decisions
Leadership & Management
· Lead, coach, and develop the sales team; set goals, evaluate performance, drive improvement, including building capabilities in the Energy market.
· Demonstrate leadership in challenging situations and contribute positively to company objectives
Required Education and Experience
· Bachelor's degree in mechanical / chemical engineering or related field
· Demonstrated success in plastics sales and market development
· Compression Molding Plastics experience a plus
· Energy market knowledge and experience, primarily Oil & Gas
· MBA or other advanced degree in related field a plus
· Proven sales and demonstrated management experience
· Microsoft software skill level intermediate to advanced
· ERP experience required, Syteline experience a plus.
Travel
This position requires up to 20% domestic travel.
