JOB SUMMARY
Ensure statutory and regulatory compliance efficiently and effectively by ensuring Ensinger products meet regulatory requirements in all markets the company conducts business in. Regulatory Compliance Manager will help anticipate regulatory trends and challenges to better prepare the organization for long-term success.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Promote safe work practices and demonstrate a zero tolerance for non-compliance with safe work practices, policies and regulations
- Ensure Ensinger’s compliance to the following standards/specifications (but not limited to):
o ASTM – resin and stock shape specs
o FDA
o USDA
o 3A Dairy
o European Standards (EU)
o Aerospace
o Medical specifications and certifications
o Military
• Responsible for all regulatory compliance at US based Ensinger plants.
• Develop and implement a cloud-based storage system that can be shared and accessed internally worldwide (in conjunction with Germany).
• Lead the effort to automate the certification process.
• Conduct scheduled and unscheduled internal reviews or audits to ensure that compliance procedures are current and followed.
• Conduct any internal investigation of compliance issues.
• Assess compliance and/or operational risks and develop risk management strategies.
• Identify compliance issues that require follow-up or investigation in a timely manner.
• Disseminate written policies and procedures related to compliance activities.
• Serve as point of contact for employees to seek clarification on issues or report irregularities.
• Maintain documentation of compliance activities.
• Consult with corporate attorneys as necessary to address difficult legal compliance issues.
• Discuss emerging compliance issues with management.
• Advise management on the implementation or operation of compliance programs.
• Provide employee training on any compliance related topics, policies, or procedures.
• Aid internal or external auditors in compliance reviews.
• Prepare management reports regarding compliance operations and progress.
• Monitor compliance systems to ensure their effectiveness.
• Report violations of compliance or regulatory standards to duly authorized enforcement agencies as appropriate or required.
• Keep informed regarding pending industry changes, trends, and best practices and assess the potential impact of these changes on organizational processes.
• Design and implement improvements in communication, monitoring, or enforcement of compliance standards.
• Verify that all necessary/required regulatory policies and procedures have been documented, implemented, and communicated.
• Review or modify policies or operating guidelines to comply with changes to standards or regulations.
• Ensure compliance with all local, state and federal laws.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
In addition to the tasks and areas of responsibility, this individual must also commit to special instructions given by the Director of Marketing and Project Management which are related to the area of interest.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
• Three years of regulatory or compliance experience
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent desired
• High energy and the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
• Excellent written and oral communications skills.
• Previous Audit or Risk Management experience.
• Clear and concise oral and written communication skills and the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
• Capable of working independently and in a team environment.
