SUMMARY:
The Laundry Attendant is an efficient and detailed-oriented professional who plays a vital role in ensuring all linen, uniforms, and guest laundry meets our exacting quality standards. This role is responsible for the careful processing, cleaning, and finishing of premium textiles using specialized equipment and techniques. This role will work closely with room attendants and other housekeeping staff to maintain seamless linen flow throughout the property. By delivering impeccable service, the Laundry Attendant will uphold La Bahia Hotel & Spa’s service standards (inspired by Forbes) while elevating our beachfront property.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITY:
- Sort, wash, dry, fold, and press all hotel linens, towels, and staff uniforms
- Operate industrial washers, dryers, and pressing equipment safely and efficiently
- Treat stains using appropriate methods for various fabric types
- Inspect all items for damage and report issues to supervisors
- Maintain proper chemical levels and machine temperatures
- Ensure all linens meet luxury standards for cleanliness, whiteness, and presentation
- Handle delicate items (sheer curtains, embroidered linens, etc.) with special care
- Verify proper folding and packaging of all laundered items
- Maintain consistent quality across high volumes of laundry
- Process guest laundry/dry cleaning with meticulous attention to care labels
- Ensure prompt return of guest items within specified timeframes
- Handle guest garments with discretion and professionalism
- Keep laundry area clean, organized, and hazard-free
- Perform basic equipment maintenance and report malfunctions
- Monitor and maintain proper inventory of cleaning supplies
- Report maintenance needs through proper channels
- Maintain impeccable grooming standards, wearing the assigned uniform exactly as specified (proper fit, cleanliness, and presentation at all times
- Wear the official hotel lapel pin prominently as part of the uniform requirement, unless embroidered onto uniform
- Perform all other duties that may be assigned as needed by your manager
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum (1) year experience in luxury hotel/resort housekeeping highly preferred
- Endurance to stand, bend, and lift for long periods
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication skills and customer service skills
- Knowledge of specialty fabric care (silk, wool, cashmere, etc.)
- Ability to work in fast-paced, warm, and humid laundry environments
- Capability to lift, push, and pull a moderate amount of weight (Up to 50lbs)
- Flexible to work in different shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Highly organized with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
