What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bilingual Legal Receptionist – Houston Law Firm position at ENRIQUE C. RAMIREZ, P.C.?
Bilingual Legal Receptionist – Houston Law Firm
Our Houston law firm is led by a seasoned attorney with decades of hands-on legal experience. We are a tight-knit team of 4-6 professionals handling Criminal, Personal Injury, and Immigration matters. We have seen consistent growth and are actively looking for the right person to grow alongside us — someone who is driven, caring, and ready to make a real impact on the people we serve.
This is a full-time, in-office position suited for a motivated candidate who brings either hands-on experience in a professional setting OR a college education or any post-secondary training — you do not need both to be considered. From day one, you will play a meaningful role in how potential clients experience our firm. Your ability to make someone feel heard and welcomed during what is often a stressful time in their life is just as important to us as your administrative skills.
Compensation: $18–$23 per hour (based on experience and qualifications)
Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Answer and manage a multi-line phone system while welcoming clients in a warm and professional manner
- Have genuine, compassionate conversations with potential new clients who may be going through a difficult time, making them feel comfortable and confident in our firm
- Conduct all client interactions in both English and Spanish fluently
- Coordinate attorney schedules, manage client intake, and maintain organized case calendars
- Handle a broad range of administrative duties including drafting correspondence, document filing, and data entry
- Treat all client and case information with the highest level of confidentiality
- Pitch in on daily office needs and special projects as they arise
What We Are Looking For:
- Either 1 years of experience in a receptionist, administrative, customer service, or client-facing role OR a college education or any post-secondary training or coursework — one is enough to qualify
- Full fluency in Spanish, both spoken and written, is a firm requirement — the majority of our clients communicate in Spanish
- A natural communicator who makes people feel welcomed, heard, and at ease from the moment they call or walk through the door
- Someone who is comfortable having genuine conversations with people who may be stressed or uncertain, and who can represent the firm with warmth and professionalism
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel) and openness to learning legal software platforms
- Detail-oriented, punctual, dependable, and a true team player
- A genuine desire to build a long-term career with a firm that is actively expanding
- Available to work full time in office Monday through Friday 9AM to 5PM
Bonus Skills (Nice to Have, Not Required):
- Any background in customer service, hospitality, or client-facing roles where building rapport was important
- Experience in sales or client acquisition
- Familiarity with social media platforms or content
- Prior experience in a law firm or legal environment
What You Will Gain:
- Competitive hourly compensation with real room to grow as the firm expands
- Direct exposure to Criminal, Personal Injury, and Immigration cases from day one
- A collaborative small-team environment with close access to an experienced attorney
- A genuine career growth opportunity — we want to invest in the right person for the long term
If you are bilingual, naturally warm and communicative, and ready to play a meaningful role in the growth of a Houston law firm, we want to hear from you. When applying, please share any experience, education, or training that makes you a strong fit for this role.
