Essential Functions
New Product Development
- Translate design input requirements into actionable engineering plans.
- Lead engineering efforts for new product design, development, and prototyping.
- Collaborate with internal and external partners to design, evaluate, and procure new equipment and technologies that enhance company capabilities through capital expenditure projects.
- Partner with Manufacturing Engineering to define standardized workflows and support capable, efficient production processes.
- Develop high‑quality technical documentation and supporting materials to ensure successful product launches.
- Work closely with Marketing and Business Development to define product requirements, timelines, and project plans.
- Maintain and update engineering documentation—including work instructions, SOPs, raw material purchase specifications and product specifications—for assigned product lines.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to improve product design integrity, quality, manufacturability, and cost competitiveness.
- Produce engineered CAD drawings as needed.
- Support customers by addressing application‑related technical questions.
- Apply standard engineering processes, tools, and best practices to ensure consistent, high‑quality outcomes.
- Serve as the subject matter expert for assigned product lines, providing technical guidance and cross‑functional support.
- Research and evaluate new materials, technologies, equipment, and tools to enhance processes, expand capabilities, and enable innovative product development.
Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Strong communication, reporting, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience working within ISO 9000 – Design Control or similar quality systems.
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Visio, and SharePoint.
- Experience with statistical analysis and SPC tools such as Minitab.
- Preferred experience in:
- Product, mold and tool design using SolidWorks
- 3D printing for rapid prototyping
- SSGB, CMM, GD&T and FEA experience is a plus
