Title: Customer Service & Order Entry Representative
Reports to: VP Sales & Marketing
Job overview:
This is an entry-level position. Previous customer service or administrative experience is preferred but not required. This individual is to answer phones, enter customer orders, communicate delivery timelines for customer orders and to work with Operations Manager on production scheduling. Proficiency in communicating with customers and prospective clients is critical.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Process customer purchase orders and assist with additional customer service and sales support functions as assigned
- Working with production Plant Managers on customer order scheduling and shipping
- Communicate via phone and email with customers regarding product support and order timelines.
- Field inbound phone calls and route to appropriate team member for follow-up
- Enter lead generation data into SUGAR CRM program
- Assist customers with basic product questions and troubleshoot common issues via phone and email
- Shipping paperwork and arrangements with carriers for customer shipments
- Routing qualified opportunities to appropriate Sales Representative for further development
Skills and Competencies:
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office to include Excel, Word, Outlook
- Experience using Zoom and/or TEAMS communication platforms
- Effective communication over the phone (and email)
- Problem solver (define the problem, generate alternatives, evaluate, and select alternatives)
- Experienced and willingness with cold calling prospective customers
- Time management skills- ability to multi-task and stay organized.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- 0–5 years of customer service, administrative, or related experience preferred
- Experience in the Water Treatment Industry preferred, but not required
- College degree preferred.
- This position works in a fast-paced manufacturing environment requiring frequent communication with customers, production staff, and shipping personnel
