We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Pediatric Registered Nurse (RN) to join our healthcare team. The Pediatric RN will provide high-quality, age-appropriate nursing care to pediatric patients across inpatient, outpatient, and community-based settings. This role requires strong clinical judgment, proficiency in pediatric assessments, medication administration, and advanced nursing interventions. The ideal candidate is experienced with EMR/EHR systems and works collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure patient safety, regulatory compliance, and family-centered care.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive pediatric patient assessments, including vital signs, physical exams, and age-appropriate developmental evaluations.
- Safely administer medications, injections, IV infusions, and perform venipuncture using proper aseptic techniques.
- Provide specialized care including airway management, ventilator support, enteral feeding, ostomy care, and catheter management.
- Assist with diagnostic procedures such as laboratory specimen collection and coordinate imaging studies as ordered.
- Accurately document patient care and clinical findings in EMR/EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth) in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Deliver acute and ongoing care for pediatric patients experiencing pain, trauma, infectious diseases, or urgent medical conditions, including triage support.
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans, nutrition, medications, developmental milestones, and discharge instructions.
- Collaborate with physicians and care teams during procedures and provide post-operative, post-acute, palliative, or hospice support when needed.
- Maintain strict infection control standards to ensure a safe care environment.
- Support families through education and guidance during complex or long-term care situations.
Qualifications
- Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license; Pediatric Nursing certification preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of pediatric nursing experience in hospital, PICU, NICU, outpatient, or clinical settings.
- Strong understanding of pediatric anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and clinical care standards.
- Experience caring for children with diverse medical needs, including developmental disabilities, behavioral health conditions, trauma, or chronic illnesses.
- Demonstrated ability to perform advanced nursing procedures including catheterization, sterile techniques, suturing assistance, and ventilator management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a strong commitment to family-centered care.
- Current BLS and ACLS certification required; PALS certification preferred (may be obtained after hire).
