DENTAL ASSISTANT FULL-TIME
Looking for a friendly, dedicated assistant who likes to work with people. We are a hard working yet fun, hardworking team looking to support each other in a great relaxing atmosphere. Experience preferred but willing to train the right candidate. We are equipped with state of the art technology to best serve the patients needs. Training on intra oral scanners can be provided.
We are a different type of General Dentistry practice, our entire focus is about the experience of the patient, being a patient centered practice with a high tech/high touch atmosphere makes us unique.
Duties:
- Assist the dentist during dental procedures
- Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize dental instruments
- Take and develop dental x-rays
- Provide patient education on oral hygiene and post-operative care
- Perform patient assessments, including taking vital signs and medical history
- Update and maintain electronic health records
- Assist with medical coding and documentation
- Manage and organize dental supplies and equipment
- Schedule patient appointments and manage the dental office calendar
- 1-2 years of prior DA1 experience in a general dental setting
- X-ray/Radiology Certification is a MUST
- Nitrous Oxide Certification is a plus
- Bilingual (Spanish-speaking) a plus
- Knowledge of Open Dental software

Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures including restorative, endodontic, prosthodontic, and pediatric treatments using four-handed dentistry techniques.
- Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring aseptic technique and infection control standards are maintained.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray) and operate medical imaging equipment such as 3D scanners when required.
- Manage patient records using EMR systems like Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic, ensuring accurate documentation of medical and dental histories, vital signs, and treatment notes in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Support patients by taking vital signs, explaining procedures clearly using dental terminology and medical terminology, and addressing their concerns with professionalism.
- Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment while adhering to infection control protocols to prevent cross-contamination.
- Perform administrative duties such as scheduling appointments as a dental receptionist, managing medical records, and assisting with medical coding for billing purposes.
- Collaborate effectively with the dental team to ensure seamless patient flow and high-quality care delivery.
Experience
- Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting is required; familiarity with general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, or endodontics is highly preferred.
- Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including chairside assisting and taking X-rays is essential.
- Knowledge of EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is necessary; experience with Epic is a plus.
- Strong understanding of infection control practices and aseptic technique in accordance with industry standards.
- Ability to communicate effectively using dental terminology and medical terminology for patient education and documentation purposes.
- Experience working with pediatric patients or in pediatric dentistry environments is advantageous.
