Senior Project Engineer – Heavy Civil & Structural

Engtal is partnering with a leading heavy civil contractor recognized for delivering complex transportation and infrastructure projects across Connecticut. With strong self-performance capabilities—including structural concrete, steel work, and major civil scopes—the team maintains exceptional control over quality, schedule, and safety.
We are seeking a Senior Project Engineer to support and coordinate structural and civil operations on large-scale infrastructure projects in the Norwalk area. This role is perfect for someone with a strong technical foundation in heavy civil work who excels in detailed coordination, engineering support, and field-driven problem solving.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the planning, engineering, and execution of structural and civil scopes from design through completion.
- Coordinate closely with field teams, subcontractors, fabricators, inspectors, and design partners.
- Manage submittals, RFIs, shop drawings, and technical documentation.
- Assist with schedule updates, quantity tracking, cost control, and change management.
- Provide field engineering support, including layout coordination, constructability reviews, and issue resolution.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and project-specific engineering requirements.
- Contribute to developing means & methods, sequencing plans, and technical work packages.
Qualifications:
- 4–7 years of experience in heavy civil, structural, or infrastructure construction.
- Strong understanding of structural systems, steel or concrete operations, and civil construction practices.
- Experience working on transportation, bridge, or major infrastructure projects preferred.
- Proficiency with construction documentation, scheduling tools, and field engineering processes.
- Excellent communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with field teams and contribute to high-quality, safe execution.
