Position Overview:
The Senior Estimator will play a key role in leading the preconstruction process, developing accurate and competitive cost estimates, and working closely with internal teams and clients to ensure project success from concept through execution. This individual will be instrumental in maintaining strong client relationships while helping drive strategic growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the preparation of conceptual, schematic, and detailed estimates for a variety of commercial construction projects
- Analyze drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive cost proposals
- Manage subcontractor solicitation, bid leveling, and scope alignment
- Collaborate with project management, design teams, and ownership throughout the preconstruction process
- Identify value engineering opportunities and provide cost-saving recommendations
- Maintain and update cost databases, historical data, and unit pricing
- Present estimates and budgets to internal stakeholders and clients with clarity and confidence
Project Experience:
Projects span a diverse portfolio including corporate offices, hospitality (hotels and restaurants), retail spaces, breweries and taprooms, healthcare facilities, educational institutions, and industrial/warehouse environments. The firm is heavily involved in tenant improvements, design-build projects, and ongoing facility solutions.
Qualifications:
- 7 years of estimating experience within commercial construction
- Strong understanding of preconstruction services, cost planning, and project delivery methods
- Experience with both renovation and ground-up projects
- Ability to manage multiple estimates in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite
