This is a hands-on engineering role where you’ll take fluid test systems from concept through build and commissioning. You’ll be working on precision measurement systems used in automotive and industrial environments, collaborating closely with mechanical, controls, and build teams on the shop floor.
This isn’t just desk-based design. You’ll see your work come to life.
What you’ll be doing
- Design process, hydraulic, and pneumatic fluid systems for custom test equipment
- Develop system architecture and concept of operation from customer requirements
- Run thermofluid calculations to drive design and component selection
- Create P&IDs and support layouts in AutoCAD and SolidWorks
- Work closely with build teams during assembly and commissioning
- Support quoting, feasibility, and technical decision making
- Engage suppliers and manage critical components through procurement
- Troubleshoot and support systems through build and into the field
What you need
- Strong background in fluid system design, ideally test systems or similar
- Experience designing process, hydraulic, and pneumatic circuits
- Ability to take systems from concept through to working machine
- AutoCAD experience for P&IDs and drawings
- SolidWorks familiarity is helpful
- Comfortable in a shop-floor environment during build phase
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capability
- 5–15 years’ experience in a relevant engineering role
Nice to have
- Experience with hazardous fluid systems (Class 1 Div 1 / Div 2)
- Exposure to controls, PLCs, or broader mechanical design
- Experience with precision measurement systems
