Role Overview
We’re seeking a Senior Controls Engineer for a hybrid role blending on-site troubleshooting with hands-on controls engineering. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, autonomy, and working directly with customers.
You’ll spend roughly 50% of your time in the field and 50% in engineering, supporting industrial customers with both reactive service calls and planned project work. You’ll be trusted to walk into unfamiliar equipment and facilities, diagnose issues independently, and guide customers through solutions. When not on-site, you’ll support engineering efforts such as PLC programming, machine upgrades, electrical design, and system improvements. This is not an entry level position.
What You’ll Do
- Troubleshoot and repair industrial control systems at customer sites (local travel only)
- Diagnose electrical, PLC, and controls issues on unfamiliar machines
- Work directly with customer teams to identify solutions and next steps
- Program, modify, and support PLC systems (Allen-Bradley / Studio 5000 / CCW)
- Create and update electrical schematics using AutoCAD Electrical
- Lead or support engineering projects including system upgrades and redesigns
What We’re Looking For
- Strong field service background in industrial environments
- Experience with Allen-Bradley PLC programming
- Familiarity with Siemens based systems
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical
- Comfortable working in customer-facing, time-sensitive environments
- Stable work history and proven technical progression
