A day in the life
Step onto the production floor and take ownership of a slitting line built for precision. You’ll set up the line to match each customer order and the day’s run schedule, dial in the tooling, and keep material moving safely and efficiently from coil to finished product.
What you’ll do
- Configure and run slitting equipment to meet customer specifications and production timelines
- Complete end-to-end machine setups: select and install knives, spacers, tension pads, and set recoiling parameters
- Use overhead cranes to load and unload metal coils with strict adherence to safety protocols
- Continuously monitor the line, making adjustments to sustain quality, speed, and uptime
- Execute cut-to-length and recoiling operations when required
- Inspect slit output for burrs, scratches, camber, edge quality, and dimensional accuracy
- Verify measurements using calipers, tape measures, and other precision instruments
- Interpret and follow work orders, blueprints, and production instructions without deviation
- Hit production targets while upholding safety and quality standards
- Troubleshoot minor mechanical issues and support basic preventive maintenance
- Maintain a clean, organized 5S work area
- Collaborate with teammates to ensure smooth flow and optimal machine performance
