Role Description The Medical Office Receptionist is a full-time, on-site role based at Englewood Hospital in Englewood, NJ. This role is responsible for greeting patients and visitors, managing patient check-in and check-out processes, and ensuring a welcoming, efficient front desk experience. Daily tasks include answering and routing phone calls, scheduling and confirming appointments, verifying patient demographics and insurance information, and collecting copayments or required documentation. The Medical Office Receptionist coordinates communication between patients, providers, and clinical staff, maintains accurate records, and follows hospital policies related to privacy, safety, and customer service. This role may also support administrative tasks such as filing, scanning, and preparing forms to help keep the medical office running smoothly.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated proficiency in receptionist duties within a medical office setting, including patient greeting, check-in, and check-out.
- Strong phone etiquette and communication skills for managing incoming calls, messages, and patient inquiries.
- Experience with appointment scheduling using electronic systems, including confirming, rescheduling, and managing cancellations.
- Knowledge of insurance verification processes, including confirming coverage, copayments, and required authorizations.
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) or practice management systems and basic data entry skills.
- Strong customer service orientation, with the ability to interact respectfully and effectively with diverse patients and families.
