Shop Assistant

Full-time, Part-time Description

Job Summary

This position is responsible for utilizing an Engledow truck to deliver items and pick up parts and equipment in a timely manner, and generally assisting the shop as needed. This also includes moving vehicles around the yard, assisting in organizing inventory. This will also involve sharpening blades and doing light mechanical work as needed while gaining additional mechanic experience and training. Engledow Group standardized levels of quality and safety are to be met at all times.

Essential Functions And Responsibilities

• Assist in maintaining inventories of existing equipment and tools
• Communicate with Shop Supervisor
• Maintain Engledow driving standards while traveling to repair equipment
• Pick up and deliver parts, tools, supplies, and equipment, trucks, and trailers as directed by shop
• Organize, and maintain shop and work yard as directed
• Assist on various projects for the shop and grounds as requested
• Communicate well in both verbal and written format
• Provide excellent service to management and crew members
• Assist in keeping facility clean and safe, including ensuring equipment and trucks are secure
  
  

Requirements

REQUIREMENTS

• Must have basic mechanical knowledge and ability to use basic hand tools
• Ability to drive pick-up trucks, vans, maneuver trailers
• Must be service oriented to meet/exceed Engledow's needs
• Must have the ability to adapt to change quickly and efficiently
• Must be able to work in an efficient and organized manner independently
• Must have strong physical endurance as the position can be labor intensive, lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Stand/walk for extended periods of time
• Valid driver’s license with less than 6 points
• Ability to pass a drug screen and background check
• High-school diploma or GED equivalent
