Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive diagnostics using automotive electrical systems, schematics, and advanced diagnostic tools to identify mechanical and electronic issues.
- Perform repairs on various vehicle systems including engines, transmissions, suspensions, brakes, shocks & struts, and powertrain components.
- Execute routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire services, wheel alignments, and vehicle inspections to uphold safety standards.
- Repair and replace components on diesel engines, heavy equipment, and GM vehicles when applicable.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other mechanical tools to complete repairs efficiently and accurately.
- Interpret technical manuals and schematics to troubleshoot complex mechanical systems repair tasks effectively.
- Provide exceptional customer service by explaining repairs clearly and ensuring customer satisfaction with the service provided.
Requirements
- Proven experience working in the automotive repair industry with a strong background in automotive diagnostics and mechanical systems repair.
- Dealership experience is highly preferred; familiarity with GM vehicles is a plus.
- Knowledge of ADAS (Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems), air brake systems, auto electrical systems, and auto body repair is desirable.
- Skilled in using schematics for troubleshooting automotive electrical and mechanical issues.
- Ability to perform diesel engine repair, transmission repair, suspension system repair, wheel alignment, brake repair, shocks & struts replacement, and oil changes efficiently.
- Mechanical knowledge complemented by proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and auto estimating software.
- Strong customer service skills with a focus on delivering quality automotive service in a timely manner.
- Valid certifications related to heavy equipment mechanics or diesel mechanics are advantageous; relevant licenses or certifications are required where applicable.
