Engineering Wireless Services, LLC (EWS) provides industry-leading support for the wireless network infrastructure of the telecommunications industry. We are seeking a qualified and experienced Project Manager to oversee a portfolio of Distributed Antenna System (DAS) and Emergency Responder Communication Enhancement System (ERCES) projects.
The Project Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing resources to meet client requirements and organizational objectives, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. This position requires a balance of in-office administrative project management responsibilities and onsite field engagement throughout the project lifecycle. The role collaborates closely with internal teams, clients, and vendors to support successful deployment while adhering to applicable safety standards and regulatory requirements.
Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct project kick-off meetings with Sales, Engineering, and Operations to establish project scope, objectives, and overall execution plan.
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, resource plans, and status reports.
- Track key project milestones and proactively adjust project plans and/or resources to meet client requirements and timelines.
- Coordinate with Procurement and Warehousing teams to ensure all equipment and materials are ordered, received, and staged prior to project start.
- Interface with all project stakeholders, including end users, service organizations, vendors, and implementation partners.
- Facilitate and participate in project meetings with stakeholders at various levels of the organization.
- Respond to customer requests and coordinate and attend meetings as required.
- Manage subcontractors performing project-related work, including scheduling, coordination, and oversight.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, including updates, timelines, contacts, and required records.
- Ensure all projects are accurately maintained within the designated project tracking system.
- Review project deliverables for completeness and accuracy and proactively communicate risks, issues, and recommended mitigation strategies to management.
- Deliver project close-out documentation to the client, including warranty information, test results, and as-built drawings.
- Ensure proper transfer of custody and control of completed systems and archive all required project records.
- Monitor safety compliance and maintain required safety documentation in accordance with company and regulatory standards.
- Maintain positive working relationships with existing customers and support the identification of potential additional business opportunities.
Job Requirements:
In support of the responsibilities above, the Project Manager is expected to allocate time approximately as follows:
- Approximately 60% Administrative / Office-Based Responsibilities, including project planning, coordination, reporting, documentation, procurement coordination, scheduling, budgeting, and stakeholder communication.
- Approximately 40% Onsite / Field Responsibilities, including site walks, construction progress verification, coordination with field teams and subcontractors, construction oversight, and support of testing, commissioning, and integration activities.
Onsite / Travel Expectations:
The Project Manager will be required to be onsite throughout the project lifecycle to support construction activities and field coordination. This role requires flexibility to meet project demands, including:
- Regular onsite presence for construction walks and field coordination
- Overnight travel to client sites as required
- Ability to work off-hours, including nights and weekends, based on construction schedules, testing windows, or client requirements
Required:
- Experience in the wireless and/or telecommunications industry.
- Minimum of two years of project management experience managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of DAS system design, construction, and integration.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, plans, and specifications.
- Experience supporting site development activities such as site walks, drawing review and markups, bill of materials creation, and construction coordination.
- Understanding of project planning fundamentals including scheduling, budgeting, resourcing, and reporting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, MS Project, and similar project management tools.
Preferred:
- Experience with Emergency Responder Radio Communication Systems (ERRCS).
- Knowledge of ERRCS permitting processes, AHJ coordination, and public safety codes including IFC and NFPA.
- NICET IB-PSC certification.
- Experience delivering large or complex venue projects such as stadiums, airports, or healthcare facilities.
- Ability to interpret and communicate iBwave designs; experience with iBwave Viewer, Visio, or CAD drawings.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
