Description

• Permanent position for a Machine Shop Manager to manage all operations of a manufacturing facility producing rotating equipment.
• Primary responsibilities will include:. Lead machining, assembly, and welding staff on the machine shop floor.
• Capacity planning for the machine shop and test areas.
• Budgeting and forecasting for headcount, spend, inventory, and capital outlay.
• Manage the supply chain from vendor qualification through contract negotiation.
• Direct production scheduling, preventive maintenance, and ongoing process improvement.
• Track jobs and floor transactions through the ERP.
• Lead Lean implementation.
• Provide cost estimates supporting sales and engineering.
• Work hours at this facility are from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM.

Requirements

• Engineering degree or equivalent hands-on machine shop experience.
• Minimum 10 years supervising a precision machine shop.
• Working knowledge of CAD/CAM, CNC, and manual machine tools.
• Fluent reading engineering drawings and specifications.
• Proven root cause analysis and corrective action skills.
• Experience operating under ISO or MIL-spec quality systems.
• Familiarity with ASME weld/pressure-vessel codes and casting QC a plus.
