Top Hand / Field Tech
Raleigh, NC based with travel Mon-Friday (home on weekends)
We’re seeking a EXPEREINCED TOWER Construction Top Hands and Techs to join our team. In this role, you’ll construct, deconstruct, modify line and antenna installations/decommissions, maintain and repair, install lighting, and do tower/foundation modifications. You will travel and climb cell towers with a 4-man crew, and work under the supervision of a crew lead and project manager. This hands-on position requires prior industry experience, working at heights, performing physically demanding tasks, and ensuring compliance with strict safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in assembling, installing, and maintaining communication towers, antennas, and related equipment.
- Responsible for all tower-side rigging and lift safety.
- Line and antenna experience to include microwave, omnis, panels, dipoles, and DragonWave/Ceragon (preferred).
- Capable of supporting and facilitating crew leader directives.
- Perform tower inspections and routine maintenance to ensure structural integrity and equipment functionality.
- Follow ETS and OSHA safety regulations, including using proper fall protection and PPE.
- Collaborate with crew members to ensure timely completion of construction and maintenance tasks.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues on-site, providing support to senior technicians as needed.
- Participate in job site setup, tool organization, and post-project cleanup.
What We’re Looking For:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must have 2-3 years’ experience as a Tower Hand in wireless construction.
- Ability to work safely at heights of up to 500 feet or more.
- Strong understanding of basic hand tools and power tools, and follow basic instructions.
- Willingness to learn and adhere to safety protocols.
- Good communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
Additional Requirements:
- Must be available for a minimum of 40 hours per week
- Must be able to travel to multiple job sites, including overnight stays, as needed.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and meet insurance eligibility requirements.
- Must pass a drug screen and background check. ( No Felonies for the past 10 years)
