Construction Estimator Cary, NC, United States (Hybrid) The Team We are seeking a Construction Estimator to join American Tower’s Construction & Development organization. The team is responsible for the creation and delivery of project estimates across wireless and broadcast asset portfolios, fiber-based DAS networks, and edge data centers. Day to day you will generate cost estimates which include all costs (material, labor, equipment, etc.) required to complete new site construction and site modification activities. As a Construction Estimator, you will partner cross-functionally to obtain accurate pricing while maintaining awareness of new and emerging industry practices. What You Can Offer Us Analyze design drawings, preliminary scopes, site data, drone photos, and supporting documents (structural analyses, iBwave, geotechnical reports, etc) to create and prepare detailed and accurate construction estimates. Routine delivery of accurate construction cost estimates in a fast-paced environment. Leverage cloud-based estimating software to create cost estimates as well as create improvements which improve system processes. Maintain database of pricing resources, including historical and existing price points. Conduct post-mortem pricing analyses to ensure the relationship between the estimate and final spend is well researched and understood, invoking change improvements when necessary. Seek ways to reduce costs by suggesting and implementing alternative design options or scope adjustments without compromising safety or quality. Develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders to understand team needs and provide high-quality service. Approximately 20% of the time in the role will be performed outside the conventional office environment. Other duties as assigned. What You Need to Succeed Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or related field required. Between 5-7 years of estimating experience Fiber-based DAS networks, Data Centers, or Electrical Infrastructure within the telecommunications, civil construction or commercial construction industry experience required. A minimum of 3 years of experience directly estimating civil construction, structural upgrades, steel fabrication, concrete, labor rates and material cost throughout the U.S. required. Experience preparing bids across full scope (labor, materials, subcontractors, indirect costs, etc.) Familiarity with utility standards, telecom modification construction, fiber-based construction, and civil components. Experience with cost estimating software and Microsoft products. Project management experience (or exposure) is preferred.
