Department: MaintenanceReports to: Plant Engineering ManagerEmployment Status: Hourly Non- exempt (12-Hour Rotating Shifts)Shift: Nights 5:50pm - 6am Pay: Commensurate with experience. Matrix- Employee Assistance Program.Job Summary: Performs a wide variety of skilled mechanical, electronic and electrical repairs to facilities, machinery and equipment. Utilizes own knowledge and information from manuals, schematics, etc… to analyze, troubleshoot and repair equipment. Installs new equipment, makes set-ups and adjustments to production equipment and performs all necessary maintenance. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Utilize a computer based CMMS system to account for time worked on equipment during your shiftPerforms troubleshooting operations to diagnose the condition of facilities, equipment and machinery and takes necessary action to affect repairs and/or adjustmentsMake set ups and adjustments on production equipmentWillingness to assist and train other technicians to help build a solid teamPerform a wide variety of maintenance, testing, inspection and repair functionsResponsible for the safe repair of equipment and ensuring that operating equipment will not injure employees or damage equipmentResponsible for entering in hours in a CMMS system every day and signing out inventory to work ordersIn addition to skills for mechanic I, mechanic II should also:Use a VoltmeterUnderstand voltage, current, and resistanceUnderstand AC-DC voltageChange motors and read wiring diagramsGear boxes -bearings -seals- mechanical drives-power transmission etc.Water pumps and gear pumps and seals for them and how they work as far as primingHow to align motor couplings sprockets and pulleysHow different taper locks workChange drive chains and adjust use chain breaks and different chain links etc.Test FusesRead electrical and mechanical prints blueprintsKnow how to glue pvc and sweat copper and drain lines fittingsHeat exchangers operationSupervisory Responsibilities: Be able to work and communicate within maintenance and between departmentsSkills, Qualifications, Education and/or Relevant Experience:2 years of industrial maintenance experience preferred.Good troubleshooting, analytical, mechanical, electrical, and electronic skills.Must be able to mentally prepare a task and envision its completion and results.Must be able to work independently or as part of a team.
