We are a leading manufacturer of plastic products seeking a dependable Shift Lead / Press Operator. This role is critical in supporting production, training operators, maintaining a clean and organized workspace, and ensuring the smooth operation of all presses.
Position Overview
The Shift Lead / Press Operator will handle finished goods, prepare stations for mold changes, assist in operator training, and support supervisors with paperwork and production tasks. This role requires hands-on experience with presses, attention to detail, and the ability to work safely and efficiently in a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Move finished goods from the press area and stage items (pallets, boxes, paperwork).
- Prepare press stations for mold changes, including work instructions and boundary samples.
- Provide breaks coverage as needed.
- Assist with rework of parts when required.
- Train operators on press operation and report training status to Supervisor.
- Operate all presses as needed.
- Support Supervisor with paperwork and production documentation.
- Monitor operator performance and provide updates to Supervisor.
- Perform general housekeeping in the press area.
- Perform grinding and other tasks assigned by Supervisor.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Ability to operate all presses safely and efficiently.
- Forklift operation experience required.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
- Strong attention to detail and safety-conscious mindset.
