What are the responsibilities and job description for the CAD Technician position at Engenious Design?
Engenious has an opportunity for a detail-oriented Mechanical CAD Technician who likes variety. The Technician works with a team of mechanical engineers to communicate design standards in drawings and other forms of documentation for life-saving technology systems that do good in the world! Not just a desk job, this position has the opportunity to get hands-on making and testing prototypes in our engineering prototype labs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- SolidWorks drawings of mechanical components, assemblies and systems.
- Collaboration with design teams: design intent/specifications, design reviews, documentation updates, part inspection, status updates.
- Support of teams and maintaining 3D models of parts and assemblies.
- Manage templates, PDM workflows and best practices.
- Support hands-on model shop and prototyping activities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- An associate degree in mechanical drafting, CAD technology, or related field. Or 2 years industry experience.
- Familiarity with drafting best practices and standards like ASME Y14.5.
- Solidworks proficiency.
- Microsoft Office proficiency (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.).
NICE TO HAVES:
- Experience applying GD&T
- Experience designing plastic and metal parts
- Solidworks drawing or modeling certification
- Experience working in Solidworks or Windchill PDM
POSITION DETAILS:
This is a full-time, permanent position. This position works from our Kansas City based office during core business hours.
