What are the responsibilities and job description for the DevOps (Windows/Linux) position at Engage Partners Inc.?
About the Role: We are seeking a highly skilled and versatile DevOps Engineer to manage our diverse infrastructure environment spanning Windows, Linux, VMware, networking, and cloud platforms. This is a hands-on individual contributor role reporting directly to senior IT leadership. You will collaborate closely with the CTO, Engineering, and Data teams to maintain, build, and evolve our infrastructure — including physical servers at our headquarters and offsite DR site in Hawthorne, NY. We are looking for someone who is technically deep, takes ownership, and wants to grow with us long term.
Required Skills:
- Windows Server & Microsoft 365 — In-depth knowledge of Active Directory, Azure AD, MS Teams, and Multi-Factor Authentication. This represents approximately 70% of the day-to-day workload.
- Linux Administration — Hands-on enterprise Linux experience, specifically including Rocky Linux. Approximately 30% of the role. Must be comfortable building and configuring Linux environments from scratch.
- AWS/Cloud Computing — Experience provisioning and configuring EC2 instances in AWS. Ability to build cloud-based virtual servers for analytical and model calibration workloads.
- VMware vSphere — Experience managing and configuring VMware virtualized environments, including HCI and ESXi. Experience with new cluster builds and configuration is a plus.
- Networking — Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and firewall management. Experience with enterprise-grade firewalls (Palo Alto, Fortinet, or similar).
- Email Security — Solid understanding of email flow, routing, spam filtering, malware protection, and DLP.
- Physical Infrastructure — Hands-on experience with server hardware including racking, cabling, diagnostics, and component replacement. Must be able to drive to our DR site in Hawthorne, NY as needed.
- Scripting & Automation — Working knowledge of PowerShell, Python, or Bash for task automation and workflow optimization.
- Security & Compliance — Familiarity with endpoint security, EDR tools, and IT compliance standards appropriate for a regulated financial services environment.
Desirable Background:
- 5 years of experience managing enterprise-level IT infrastructure
- Experience in financial services, hedge funds, asset management, or similarly regulated environments strongly preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible
- Familiarity with Nutanix or other HCI platforms
What We're Looking For: Beyond the technical skills, we want someone who takes pride in their work, communicates clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, and is looking to build a career — not just fill a seat. This is a stable, long-term opportunity at a well-established firm with a collaborative IT team.
Compensation: Competitive, commensurate with experience
Location: Old Greenwich, CT — 5 days/week onsite. Must be local or willing to commute without reservation.
Salary : $150,000 - $175,000
