What are the responsibilities and job description for the Project Manager - Modular Enclosure Manufacturing position at Enerpan?
About Enerpan
Enerpan designs and manufactures insulated metal panel (IMP) enclosures for the industrial market — data centers, power infrastructure, battery energy storage, and equipment shelters. We ship complete, job-ready buildings out of our Louisville, KY campus to customers nationwide.
We're in an active growth phase: expanding our manufacturing footprint, bringing fabrication in-house, and taking on larger multi-unit programs. This is a role for someone who wants to own real projects with real dollars attached, in a company small enough that your decisions are visible and fast.
The Role
The Project Manager owns delivery from kickoff through closeout, reporting to our Director of Project Delivery. You are the customer's primary point of contact, the translator of design intent to our engineering and production teams, and the person who makes sure material shows up before the shop needs it. On average, our PMs carry roughly $3.3 million in concurrent project value, so schedule, budget, and quality judgment sit squarely with you.
What You'll Do
- Own the customer relationship. Serve as the primary point of contact for your accounts and keep them current on project status.
- Lead design reviews and coordination meetings. Capture customer design intent and communicate it clearly to design, engineering, and production.
- Build and maintain project schedules and budgets. Track costs, forecast, and protect project margin.
- Solve problems before they become delays. When conflicts or missing information surface, you resolve them and manage the downstream risk.
- Drive procurement. Obtain quotes, issue work orders, and track buyout status so materials land ahead of production need.
- Run the administrative side cleanly. Documentation, RFIs and change orders, billing milestones, and closeout.
- Provide functional direction. You plan and assign work across the project team and check the work of others (this is not a direct-report supervisory role).
How Success Is Measured
- On-time delivery — projects ship on or ahead of committed dates
- On-budget performance — projects complete within budget and margin is protected
- Procurement readiness — materials and buyouts complete before production needs them
- Work-order timeliness — work orders submitted promptly after drawings are approved
- Customer satisfaction — expectations set, met, and communicated throughout
What You Bring
Required
- 5 years in construction, modular construction, manufacturing, project management, or operations
- Demonstrated ownership of project delivery: scheduling, budgeting, procurement coordination, customer management, risk and change management, and cross-functional coordination
- Field experience — you've been on jobsites and understand how a drawing becomes a built product
- Clear, direct written and verbal communication with customers and shop floor alike
- Ability to travel occasionally to customer and vendor locations
- Willingness to sign a non-disclosure agreement (the role handles budgets, contracts, and vendor pricing)
Preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field — equivalent experience, aptitude, and attitude will be considered in lieu of a degree
- OSHA 30; CMIT or related construction/safety certifications
