About this Role
Location: 2707 North Loop West, Houston, TX 77008 EnergyLink, a Quanta company, is seeking a Purchasing Manager with proven, hands-on experience leading and developing procurement teams. This is a true people leadership role — prior direct management of buyers is required. You will be responsible for setting expectations, driving accountability, coaching performance, and building a high-performing team while overseeing purchasing execution from planning through delivery. Success in this role requires a leader who can develop talent, make sound sourcing decisions, and ensure alignment with project timelines, cost objectives, and long-term supplier partnerships. Key Responsibilities- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Buyers to achieve performance, delivery, and cost objectives.
- Develop and execute purchasing plans aligned with project schedules, budgets, and engineering specifications.
- Drive strategic sourcing initiatives to reduce cost, improve reliability, and minimize supply risk.
- Oversee supplier selection and contract administration with a focus on quality, pricing, and on-time delivery.
- Partner with logistics, inventory, and project teams to support just-in-time delivery and efficient inventory turnover.
- Proactively resolve supplier performance issues and implement corrective actions to avoid project disruptions.
- Ensure compliance with company procurement policies, contractual requirements, and industry safety standards.
- Track and report procurement KPIs; identify continuous improvement and cost-saving opportunities.
What You'll Bring
Experience- 5 years of progressive experience in purchasing or procurement.
- Demonstrated people leadership experience; leading buyer teams and building strong supplier partnerships.
- Experience supporting energy, utility, high-voltage, or EPC projects strongly preferred.
- Proficiency with ERP systems (JDE or similar) and procurement platforms.
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, project management, and field operations.
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business, engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
