Position Overview

We’re seeking a Solar Sales Manager to lead residential solar sales efforts in California. This entrepreneurial opportunity is ideal for someone with solar experience, a passion for clean energy, and a strong drive to build and lead a high-performing sales team. The ideal candidate will be a motivated self-starter who is ready to take ownership of their territory and potentially grow a sales organization under the ESP umbrella.


Responsibilities:

  • Prospect and close residential solar sales through a mix of in-person outreach, referrals, online strategies, and community engagement.
  • Educate homeowners on the benefits of solar energy and how ESP’s turnkey solutions meet their energy needs.
  • Manage the full sales cycle, from lead generation to signed contract.
  • Represent ESP professionally by maintaining deep knowledge of solar products, installation processes, and financial incentives.
  • Develop and mentor future sales reps as your team scales.
  • Attend meetings, training, and work with internal departments to ensure smooth project fulfillment.
  • Must have reliable transportation and internet access.
  • Flexible schedule to accommodate evening and weekend appointments with homeowners.


Qualifications:

  • Positive and professional attitude with strong communication skills
  • Solar sales or related experience required
  • Strong desire to take ownership and build something long-term
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with leadership potential
  • Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and results-driven


Compensation and Benefits:

  • Up to 30% commission on each solar sale
  • Override commission potential for team leaders
  • Flexible, remote-first structure — sell solar from anywhere in California
  • Pathway to building your own sales organization


Job Type: Independent Contractor (1099)

OTE: $150,00-350,000k/year

Location: California (Remote/Field-based)
