What are the responsibilities and job description for the Telecommunications Intern - YEAR ROUND position at Energy Northwest?
This is a paid year-round internship located in Richland, WA. Student must be able to report to the office north of Richland.
Plan and schedule telecommunication technician work (preventative maintenance, corrective maintenance, service requests, and emergent requests) per plant procedures and Information Services (IS) department instructions and expectations.
Preferred majors - Business Administration, Business Management or Project Management.
General Summary
Provide entry-level to more advanced technical support for the designated organization based on assigned projects and student skill level. This position will be directly accountable to assigned department staff and will support assigned project related activities and initiatives.
Principal Accountabilities
Support assigned routine department activities.
Support technical project-related activities within the department.
Support emergent related work or assignments.
Required Education And Experience
Pay Is Based On Academic Level
Freshman: $19.31 per hour
Sophomore: $19.31 per hour
Junior: $20.35 per hour
Senior: $24.10 per hour

Temporary employees may be required to participate in the Washington State Pension Plan (PERS) and may also be eligible to enroll in medical insurance if the duration and hours worked requirements are met. Temporary employees accrue paid time off that is available to use after 90 days of employment.

Required Education And Experience
- Requires current part to full time enrollment status in a bachelor’s or graduate degree program in a technical field related to the assigned role at an accredited college or university.
- Target hire designation is determined by the expected knowledge level needed for the job duties assigned to each internship and by the expected status level of the student when the internship commences (Senior, Junior, etc).
- Must maintain a minimum 2.8 cumulative G.P.A. unless approved by Human Resources.
- The selected candidate will be expected to be available to work onsite at the designated work location on a year-round basis if business needs warrant it.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
